Spring Buds School is an English medium school in Federal B Area Block 11, Gulberg Town, Karachi. It teaches all 13 levels from Play Group to Grade 8, and it opened in 2018.
Miss Fareeha Kanwal founded the school and still runs it. Teaching here is activity and project based, which means a child handles, builds or presents the work before writing it down.
The school opened in 2018. The oldest public trace of it was not written by us: two recommendations sit on our Facebook page dated 25 and 26 December that year, and the later of the two came from an educationist who named Miss Fareeha directly.

What opened in 2018 was the Montessori. The Google listing still carries that older name, Spring Buds Montessori, because nobody has claimed the listing yet and the name has stayed where it was. It is not wrong so much as early. The Montessori years are where this started, and the school grew outwards from them until 13 levels ran under one timetable, Play Group to Grade 8. The proposition Miss Fareeha started with was plain. Long settled classroom practice holds plenty worth keeping, and it can still be taught in a fresher way: a child who builds the thing, sorts it or explains it to the class holds on to more of it than a child who copies it off a board. Miss Fareeha Kanwal teaches A Levels English at Nixor College, The City School PAF Chapter and Highbrow College. The teaching team meets before every session opens, and the last of those meetings was on 3 August 2026, a few days before the children came back.
Timings are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM. The shape of a morning changes with the level.
Montessori mornings often begin on their feet. In the first week of August 2026 the youngest classes were in the covered play area for a movement session, two teachers on the floor with them, in front of a wall of paper flowers and a large pencil cut out the children had made. After that the work is chosen rather than handed out: a child picks a piece, carries it to a mat, finishes it and puts it back.
The four Montessori levels in detail
Work here gets presented. On 14 August 2026 students read aloud to classmates seated on the red and blue desks that had been carried out onto the garden turf, and the rosettes they wore had been pleated and glued in class beforehand. The science fair and entrepreneurship day run the same way: a project is built first, then explained to whoever walks up to the table.
Students enter competitions that other organisations hold. At Create for Peace 2026, organised by MindCarver, ours took Silver and Bronze in the Creative Writing category, and several were recognised as Young Peace Advocates.
