Spring Buds School in Federal B Area Block 11 keeps four traditions every session: the science fair, entrepreneurship day, parent events and outside competitions.
The rest of this page is dated. Those occasions happened in 2026, and every entry links back to the post the school published on the day. Nothing here is a plan for something that has not run yet.
These four run every session. We publish no dates for them here, because the calendar is settled with parents each year.
Three of these we run ourselves. The fourth is run by other people, which is the whole point of entering it. The science fair and entrepreneurship day come out of the way lessons already work here, where a child builds a thing or explains it to the class before writing it up. Every level and what it covers is set out on the academics page.
Every year our students plan a science project, build it, and stand beside it to explain how it works. Parents walk the tables and ask questions.
The fair sits in the same group of traditions as entrepreneurship day, our parent events and the competitions we enter outside school. Dates are confirmed with parents once the session calendar is settled.
Children choose what to sell, price it, make the sign for it and then stand behind their own stall for the morning. Setting the price is the part that takes the most thinking, and it is the reason the day is on the calendar at all.

We ask parents into the building rather than only onto a WhatsApp group. A PTM is the plainest version of that: parents sit with the teacher who marks the books and hear what is actually going on, good and bad.
Other occasions are larger. The session closes in early June with a function and a prize distribution, and both of those are recorded here with the photographs the school published at the time.
Entering a competition run by someone else is the only honest test of what a school teaches. Our students sit that test.
At Create for Peace 2026, organised by MindCarver, Spring Buds students won Silver and Bronze in the Creative Writing category, and several were recognised as Young Peace Advocates for the pieces they wrote about peace. The medals and certificates were handed over at our prize distribution on 3 June 2026. We publish no names and no winner count, because the backdrops in the photographs are the only record and they do not support either.

The photographs are ours and went up the same week. Apart from the June evening in a hired hall, everything on this page happened at our own building in Gulberg Town, Karachi. The whole set, grouped by occasion, sits on the gallery page.
Green and white from the gate onwards. The Montessori children and the older students held separate assemblies on 14 August 2026, one after the other, in the walled garden at the back of the school.
The rosettes and the badges were made in class beforehand. Children pleated the paper, glued the crescent and star into the middle, and wore them on the day. Teachers raised small flags on the covered porch, a line of boys saluted in front of a Pakistan Zindabad board, and students read aloud to classmates sitting on the red and blue desks that had been carried out onto the turf.
The school published three sets of photographs from the day.
Maroon and blue check, back in the play area. The 2026-27 session opened in the first week of August, and the Montessori morning started the way it usually does, with everyone on their feet.
Two teachers ran the movement session under the covered roof, in front of walls carrying paper flowers and a large pencil cut out that the children had made. The first days of a session are mostly about the shape of a day rather than the content of one: where the bag goes, when the break comes, which teacher to find when something goes wrong.
Before the children came back, the staff did. The teaching team met on 3 August 2026 for the general meeting that opens every session, a few days ahead of the first day back.
There was a cake, samosas and sandwiches on an orange table, which is a fair picture of how the year begins here.
Medals, certificates and a printed backdrop. The prize distribution on 3 June 2026 closed the session, and a good part of the evening went to results from Create for Peace 2026, a writing competition run by MindCarver.
Spring Buds students took Silver and Bronze in the Creative Writing category. Others were recognised as Young Peace Advocates for what they had written about peace.
Names, winner counts and grades are not published here. The backdrops in the school photographs are the only record we hold of that evening, parts of them are out of focus, and children who won something are entitled to have their names stay off a public web page.
A hired hall, a lit backdrop and a proper stage. On 3 June 2026 the school finished its year the way it finishes every year, with the students performing in front of their families.
Boys in white shirts, black bow ties, braces and hats worked through their piece with wooden chairs for props. The nursery had its own turn on the same programme, so the youngest children in the school were on that stage too.
We have not set the date. The session calendar is agreed with parents once the term is under way, and a month printed here that later had to move would be worse than no month at all.
